# 20231026 Committee Meeting

|
|
## Next week's meeting
|
|
* Irene & Kaiden met with Shauna O'Holloran about the movie.
|
|
* Was told that we can go ahead with it, we can never announce the film on Social Media, only that we are holding an event. Emails and Discord are good.
|
|
* Even with the license we can't advertise the screening of a movie on socials.
|
|
* Pop-up a film in the meeting thread for members to vote on.
|
|
|
|
## Following weeks event (8th November)
|
|
* Maybe Python related
|
|
* Morris to research.
|
|
* Maybe Samir or Brendan to run the event.
|
|
|
|
## OutInUL collaboration
|
|
* Out in UL and Compsoc collaboration??
|
|
* Condition that normal people aren't excluded
|
|
* We need to have an idea for what our schedule.
|
|
* Week 10, 11 & 12 have no plans at the moment.
|
|
|
|
### Plan
|
|
|
|
1. Date: figure out when we can actually do this what date, see if can happen between inclusive weeks 13-15
|
|
2. Event: figure out the plan so draft is 1hr of presentation on com and queer history and 2hr of socialising socialism
|
|
3. Room: if we do it during weeks 13-15 computer society trys to figure out how we book a room outside of uni time
|
|
4. Figure out what kind of event we should do for getting people to all chat with eachother and don't just stick to their own groups
|
|
|
|
|
|
## Pycon
|
|
* More or less sorted
|
|
* Bank mandate? To be discussed later
|
|
* All committee to go to Pycon.
|
|
* Should we start booking busses, since there are only 40 spaces left on the bus.
|
|
* Form to see where people live close to (Anacotty, Uni or Quay).
|
|
* Brendan maybe to test new Skynet service?
|
|
|
|
## Merchandising
|
|
* Lost Max, was to do a report for Kaiden, all knowledge gone with him. Irene has emailed Max.
|
|
* Maybe push out stickers, maybe talk to Fencing and Out in UL as they are further along in the procedure.
|
|
* Irene or PRO to reach out for info.
|
|
|
|

* Maybe follow up with the person that we are emailing now that he is back from AL.
