Matrix is like discord but self hosted.
Would be good to take a look at it, possibly also setting up a bridge.

There is a package for it, some docs as well

There is a [package](https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/blob/master/nixos/modules/services/matrix/synapse.nix) for it, some [docs](https://nixos.wiki/wiki/Matrix#matrix-appservice-discord) as well
