There is a discord bot called Yappy that can post updates of a git repo to discord server, may mitigate most of the things email (#1) is used for.

Im getting notifications on my skynet email but, if we still want discord notifications this is probably better,
an admin will need to add it to the discord following the link above. (Example below)

Sounds good, yappy came to mind since I have been using it for years now.
Nice to see that discord is nativly supported.

What sort of layout on the discord side would you expect/want to see?

I think could do 2 separate channels, one for push, merge request and pipelines then another for issues, comments, tags etc. Two webhooks should be able to get all of them from /compsoc1 i think.
This way could be bad so im not entirely sure 🤷

Well the only thing to do is to try it out.
