# Advent of Code Primer

## Overview
|

Advent of Code (AoC) is an annual programming event where you use any programming language (or even pen+paper) to solve 50 problems.
|
||||
It features a cute story and is a good test of a novice developers progression.
|
||||
|
||||
The downside for us is it hits straight in exam season.
|
||||

Advent of Code is a yearly event that happens every December where a programming challenge is released each day until Christmas. This Wednesday we will have a look back at previous Advent of Codes and prepare for this year's challenges!

As per usual, this will take place on Wednesday in Student Life Courtyard Room, From 6.00 to 8.30 PM.

Lightning talks are a mixer based event where we encourage members returning from Co-OP or internships to talk about teh good, the bad and the ugly of their working experences.

We typically have pizza for the event and we (now) pay for the membership of anyone returning (who isnt already a member).

One thing different this year is that one of the 1st year lecturers wanted them to do a blog website, so we tailored the content to that.
