# AGM | Date | 2023/10/04 | |----------|---------------| | Location | Room 3 | | Time | 18:00 - 21:00 | | Type | Social | | Lead | @sidhiel | ## Overview New committee members! ### Requirements None ## Promotion ### Email ``` Heyaaaa everyone! First, I apologise for this long email. Second, I want to welcome everyone to the Computer Society, whether you are a returning member or have just joined us. It looks like this year there is going to be a lot of fun! Next week we will be having our annual AGM where we vote on a new committee, and we really need you all there as your vote is important. Date: Wednesday the 4th of October Location: Room 3 SL Building Time: 18:00 until 21:00. The committee is split into three main groups: Core, non-Core and then the Skynet team. The Skynet team is the only thing that we don’t vote on and is made of the Senior admin and some Junior admins. The Core positions include President, Secretary and the Treasurer. • President - The main contact point for outside the society and liaise with C&S and head of the society. Also Chairs meetings and sets the agenda. • Secretary - Takes minutes at meetings and distributes to members. Helps with the day to day running of the society and at events. • Treasurer - In charge of the finances of the Society and makes sure the budget is made for the end of the year. We’d recommend previous committee members to go for these roles as previous experience is vital for the core roles of the committee. So, if you’re new to Clubs and Societies committees then the other roles are great roles to gain initial experiences. The rest of the committee positions are the non-core positions. • Events - help organise events and make sure people are there to help bring equipment to events and that a room is booked. • PRO - Emails, Instagram posts, make posters, take pictures • PRO Assistant - Emails, Instagram posts, make posters, take pictures • Programming and Technology - Organise technical events e.g. Code-off • Health and Safety and Equipment Officer - keep stock of our equipment and keep an eye on the society's health and safety at events. • First Year Rep - Engage with first years and bring concerns to committee These are all great roles to gain experience and to have a big impact on the running of the society with not a lot of work required. The people that held these roles will also give a quick summary of what the role involved. Also, the most important thing of this event: free pizza! So, make sure you attend if you want to have free dinner that day. Also, we might go to Scholars afterwards. ------- Kind regards, 002111 011010 011001 010220 011002 010211 001012 011022 011010 001012 011022 010212 010220 011021 001012 011001 010202 010202 011022 010220 011002 010211 001122 001012 010220 011022 001012 010210 010220 011000 011000 011021 001012 011111 011010 011100 001012 011102 010220 011022 010212 001012 010201 010202 011022 010202 011020 011001 010220 011002 010121 011022 010220 011010 011002 001201 ``` ### Discord https://discord.com/channels/689189992417067052/1153328461604196465/1157301928603172986 ```markdown Heyaaaa @everyone First, I apologise for this long announcement.
